School has been VERY busy and exhausting. I miss the days when I used to come home and take a nap. Even though those days are long gone, nothing beats coming home to this sweet baby each day. I can't wait to pick her up in the afternoons and I love how she makes me forget the to-do list and cherish the time I have with her before her bedtime. I have definitely learned to prioritize since becoming a Mommy. And I know she's only little once...so I'm going to keep telling myself that and not worry so much about the "small stuff"!
Ok- on to Ella Kate! I think we have a little clown on our hands. She loves to giggle, be silly, and definitely keeps us entertained. Dancing has become one of her favorite things to do. Whether it's a commercial, a toy, or music, she loves to dance to it! She still likes to look out of the living room window every day and watch the cars go by. She also loves to throw her ball and chase it around. Ella Kate has recently become fascinated with shadows. For the longest time, we could not figure out why she was hanging her head when she was crawling and why she was leaning down when we would hold her outside. Then, one day last week at my mom's she was hanging her head down again but going 90-to-nothing crawling around the living room when it finally hit us that she was after her shadow. Oh the mind of a child. :) :) EK has been standing on her own a lot lately but hasn't taken those first steps yet. She has ZERO teeth...can you believe it? But it sure hasn't slowed down her eating.
Ella Kate is hardly eating baby food these days. I think her stomach is a bottomless pit. She wants whatever we are having and she will eat, and eat, and eat!!!! When you put her in her high-chair, you better have her meal ready or she will grunt and kick until you do.
Next month we will celebrate Ella Kate's FIRST BIRTHDAY! I cannot believe it has been that long already. I constantly think back to this time last year and how anxious we were to meet this little girl. I wondered what she would look like, what her voice would sound like, etc. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about how much love and happiness she has brought to our lives. I had a "mommy moment" just the other night when I was going through pictures to use at her party. We have made so many memories over the past 11 months and I am looking forward to many more to come. She is definitely the greatest blessing we have ever received.
I have been very busy making birthday plans and we're going to try to wrap up most of the birthday shopping this weekend. I'm very excited that I get her birthday off from school. We have fall holidays around that time, which works out perfect! Once Ella Kate turns one, the blog posts will probably slow down as well, but I promise to keep it updated every few months! Below are some pictures over the past month (not very many...I haven't done so well taking pictures lately)!
