The Davis Family Blog: August 2013

We are officially in the DOUBLE DIGITS now! Even though I wish time would slow down and I could keep my baby little forever, I am loving each new stage that Ella Kate goes through. I am already missing my days at home with her now that school has started back. But, it makes the afternoons that much more fun. I love the look on her face when I pick her up from Mom's each day. She gets so excited, locks her legs and arms and makes the funniest noise when she sees me. And of course- her eyes and smile just light up. No matter what kind of day you have, seeing the love she has for you makes everything better!

Ella Kate recently started standing on her own for a few seconds here and there. She pulls up on everything and has been for a few weeks. I have a feeling we will have a little walker soon! She is into EVERYTHING and keeps my floors super clean. Anything she touches goes straight to her mouth.

I have really got to get on the ball finishing her first birthday plans...it doesn't even seem real writing that! I have it all "in my head", but need to get on the ball getting it all together. Hopefully after these first few weeks of school get behind me, I can get that done! School starting back has me completely exhausted at the end of the day.

Ella Kate is still sleeping through the night (thank goodness)- usually from 8:15ish-7:00. We've been having to wake her up a few mornings so that Hunter could get to work on time. I have said this many times, but I am so thankful that EK is such a "go-with-the-flow" baby. She has made parenthood a very smooth transition for us.

Ella Kate is still wearing size 6-12 months clothes and having four bottles a day. She also eats twice a day plus a few snack times throughout the day. She has been wanting to try EVERYTHING we eat. If she knows that we have something on our plates and yet we try to give her baby food, she will pitch some kind of fit until we let her try what we're having. I think that girl will eat ANYTHING!

Ella Kate still loves bath time, being outside, and could probably watch cars go by all day. We're also teaching her a little sign language. She can wave bye-bye and when she wants more, she just slams her hand down on her high-chair tray over and over. She definitely knows how to get your attention. It's getting harder and harder to get pictures of her because she doesn't sit still very long at all. But here are a few pictures we took of her yesterday when she turned 10 Months! :)
